
Marcus Sloan Bio
In the game of basketball, where match-ups are everything, Marcus Sloan is a one-man nightmare. A standout at Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas, Marcus Sloan went on to play for the TCU Horned Frogs. After graduating from Texas Christian University in 2005, Marcus Sloan began sharing his discipline and love for the game with his fellow players by becoming the graduate assisting coach. In 2006, Marcus Sloan decided to take his game to the next level and play in the professional league in Europe. He began is professional career In Germany, Lich-Geissin, in 2006 and in 2007, Marcus Sloan went to the Switzerland LNA- All Defensive Team .
During his time as a professional player, Marcus Sloan has won numerous titles making him the player towatch . His titles include: All-German South Center of the Year in 2007, All-German Import Player of the Year in 2007, All-German South Defensive Player of the Year in 2007, Swiss League Cup Winner in 2008 and All-Swiss Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. In the summer of 2008, Marcus Sloan was drafted by the Reno Bighorns in the 4th round of the NBA D-League Draft and was featured in the June 2008 issue of GQ Magazine. He also won Player of the Year honors in Switzerland in 2009, and topped that off this past season by winning the prestigious Swiss Cup championship. Wanting to combine his passions of helping kids and basketball, he created Shoot2Score Hoops. Since its inception in 2008, Shoot2Score Hoops has hosted several annual fundraisers, including "Shoot2Score Hoops Soirée" Christmas party, "The Kickback" which happens in August to helps kids get ready for school, and Marcus Sloan has even hosted a fundraiser in Switzerland on behalf of the organization. In 2009 Sloan expanded his program to the AAU circuit, where he now has a 16U AAU team, named after the organization. The team won several tournaments last summer, and recently had a top 16 finish at the Primetime Nationals in Dallas this past June. Marcus Sloan envisions this program reaching State and National recognition, and believes that, "the sky is the limit for Shoot2Score Hoops, and I look forward to where we're headed!"
