Jared Lyons graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Tx (2001). He then attended Hardgrave Military Prep School in Chatham, Virginia (2001-02). Next, he transfered to Cedar Valley College and played 2yrs (2003-05), then finished his playing career at the University of Houston (2005-07). Next, Jared Lyons continued to work on his degree and became a student assistant coach for the University of Houston for the 2007-2008 season. After completing his degree in Kinesiology/Sports Administration in the summer of 2008, Jared Lyons became a graduate assistant coach at the University of Houston for the 2008-2009 season.
Now Jared Lyons is currently a personal basketball trainer, AAU summer coach and a varsity assistant coach at Lutheran South Academy High School. Where he helped lead the program to a 23-10 record and to the second round of the TAAPS 4A state playoffs in his first year with the program. This past season was their first 20 win season in 10yrs and first playoff apperance in 12yrs.
