Kids Learned today the fundamentals of basketball. Tomorrow , we plan on explaining never losing sight of your goals and dreams. This is important on and off the basketball court. There are many times in basketball when you are facing a more skilled player. Going back to your fundamentals and setting a goal to really go at the person is very important.

Here the kids were taught the importance of a strong dribble. A strong dribble helps you create penetration. Being able to drible with your head up and cross over through cones can help you develop a stronger dribble. These kids did an awesome job weaving through the cones.

The older kids got a private lesson from Kenny Henderson. He taught them body control and how to get around a player. This is very important in basketball because it frees up your other teammates because of your penetration.

Lamar Roberson was teaching the importance of developing a shot. This includes lots of shooting in various areas around the court. In this video, he is having the kids shoot over and over as a team in different spots around the court. When practicing getting a better shot, a player should take shots in the same spot until he hits his goal (usually 6, 8, or 10). After that, you should move to the next spot and take shots until you hit your goal again. This should be done all over the court in some sort of pattern. The kids were required to count as thier team made the basket. I think the losing team had to do a few pushups.

Thank you to Lenny's Sub for helping to sponsor the food. The kids ate Lenny's Subs and watched a highlight video of some of the elite NBA basketball players. This included players such as Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Lebron James, and Dwayne Wade
